May be the same level of hassle for you, but not for me. I'm not dumb
enough to lock my car and have widows broken. I leave it unlocked so you
can take a tour if you want but find nothing of value to steal. One time I
left a quart of oil in the back seat and it was stolen, no damage to the
car. Other cars parked near me had nothing stolen, but had broken windows,

When you select the end point (waypoint) you should save it. Then you
can use it again. Also most Garmin GPS receivers when they start up
have a note asking if you want to Stop (in red). If you say View Map
and do not select stop then it will continue on the route that you had
before. If you select Stop then the route will be deleted.

I have the latest firmware and maps. I also just sent Garmin the same

Have you updated the firmware to the latest level? I don't have the 8xx
series, have the 765t and it keeps the route after a power off. If you have
updated it send the question to Garmin and see what they say. Also look for
the FAQ's on Garmin's site.

Probably not, but my 350 does what you're hoping yours would. So either
yours has a defect, or the 855 isn't designed to "remember."

Sad to see that a month after Garmin has recognized this issue (which
also affects my device) and a solution/firmware update has been
announced, nothing of that has happened. I mean, of course these
things are /old/, as in really, really old, and I understand any
engineer who has developed anything for this device is now retired or

O.K, just tried what you suggested - no luck. When I turned it back on,
it went into navigation mode within a few seconds but never resumed the
destination even after 5 minutes or so.

Sometimes, when I turn my 785 back on, it appears that the route/destination
is lost. However, if I wait a minute or two, or start driving it'll come in.
Try waiting awhile and see if yours will do the same.
